Dragon Soop is excited to announce we are the new official club sponsors of Renfrewshire Raptors Flag American Football Club.

“Raptors? They died out over 75-million years ago,” you’ll probably be thinking after a quick Google search to confirm how many years it’s been since they were wiped out by a massive asteroid.

But not these guys.

Established in 2019 from the ashes of the Paisley Spartans, the Renfrewshire Raptors are an amateur Flag American Football Club based in Paisley (Scotland), and they hunt their prey in the BAFA HNC Division One.

And that’s not all.

The Raptors also go hunting in tournaments including Flagging New Year and Flagging Iron Man, where they take on teams from countries including Germany, France, Russia and the USA.

A Fearsome Partnership

For the coming season, the Dragon Soop logo will adorn the team’s coaching kit and match shirt, and for that extra bit of incentive, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) will also be awarded Dragon Soop at the end of each game day.

On sponsoring the Renfrewshire Raptors, Managing Director of Corinthian Brands, Paul Burton, said:

Flag American Football is one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK, with teams participating in every corner of the country.

Given the chance of supporting the Raptors’ dream of gaining promotion to the topflight and locking horns with the best sides the UK has to offer?

We bit their hand off.

Dragons and Raptors? I can’t think of a more fearsome partnership.”

Meanwhile, Raptors Head Coach, Mark Peberdy said:

We are extremely proud to welcome Dragon Soop as sponsors of the Renfrewshire Raptors and can’t thank them enough for their fantastic backing of our club.

Dragon Soop’s commitment to grassroots sport is to be commended, and we believe their support of the growing flag football community signals the surge in popularity the sport is achieving.

We hope that this is the beginning of a fruitful partnership, which will see Raptors and Dragons become friends the world over.”
